We recycled my dad’s old iPhone 5S and Apple gave us a $150 gift card. I’m thinking about buying an Apple TV.

Well the biggest reason why we’d get an Apple TV is because you can stream your desktop directly from your Mac to it, which is really convenient. Neither of us are music junkies.

I have a previous generation Apple TV and its definitely worth it. Just be sure to keep a tether on the remote because you will lose it every other day.

The newest one is going to be an interesting platform to watch develop, I say go for it. I’ve always liked the Apple TV and with apps now it's should be better.

I have an Apple TV. Like most Apple products, it was cool and new when it came out but the competition caught up and passed it quick.
I use my Amazon Fire box way more (actually I don’t use AppleTV anymore). I sideloaded Kodi onto it and cut my TV subscription

We’ve been very happy with our AppleTV. We stream from iTunes or others, switching to Large Cable Provider a few evenings per week for live local news. We catch WEC or cycling coverage from our laptops, or kids shows from Amazon or general web portals, and Airplay to the TV, no problems. Our city/county will roll out an alternative broadband solution in the next year or so, and we’ll cancel our long... relationship... with the bundle-required monopoly corporation.
I would note the other reply regarding keeping track of the remote is important. The one we have is tiny. We’re not prone to loss, even with a pre-schooler, but I could see how it could be a problem for many.
